لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Lā ilāha illā Anta, subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn.
"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
Allāhumma innī as’aluka al-‘āfiyata fid-dunyā wal-ākhirah.
"O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter."

Sayyidul Istighfar
The chief prayer for seeking forgiveness, highly recommended in the morning and evening.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allāhumma Anta Rabbī lā ilāha illā Anta, khalaqtanī wa ana ‘abduka, wa ana ‘alā ‘ahdika wa wa‘dika mastata‘tu, a‘ūdhu bika min sharri mā sana‘tu, abū’u laka bini‘matika ‘alayya, wa abū’u laka bidhanbī faghfir lī fa-innahu lā yaghfiru-dh-dhunūba illā Anta.
"O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your servant and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil which I have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You."
Protection from All Harm
Recited three times in the morning and evening to seek protection from all evil.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Bismillāhi-lladhī lā yaḍurru ma‘asmihi shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’i wa huwas-Samī‘ul-‘Alīm.
"In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing."
Dua Against Evil Eye
Seeking refuge in Allah's perfect words from every evil.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
A‘ūdhu bikalimātillāhi-t-tāmmati min kulli shayṭānin wa hāmmatin wa min kulli ‘aynin lāmmah.
"I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous pest and from every evil, harmful eye."
Dua for Easing Tasks
A prayer for success and ease in any difficult endeavor.
اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا
Allāhumma lā sahla illā mā ja‘altahu sahla, wa Anta taj‘alul-hazna idhā shi’ta sahla.
"O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You will."
Dua for General Health
Seeking wellness in physical body, hearing, and sight.
اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī badanī, Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī sam‘ī, Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī baṣarī, lā ilāha illā Anta.
"O Allah, grant health to my body. O Allah, grant health to my hearing. O Allah, grant health to my sight. There is no deity but You."
Dua for Traveling
Recited when mounting a vehicle or starting a journey.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Subḥān-alladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīna, wa innā ilā Rabbinā la-munqalibūn.
"Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we were not able to control it, and indeed to our Lord we will return."
Seeking Total Forgiveness
A comprehensive prayer for the forgiveness of all sins.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh.
"I seek forgiveness from Allah and I repent to Him."
Dua for Parents

رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Rabbi-rḥamhumā kamā rabbayānī ṣaghīrā.
"My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
Dua for Eloquence
Prophet Musa's prayer for clarity in speech and easing of the heart.
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Rabbi-shraḥ lī ṣadrī wa yassir lī amrī wa-ḥlul ‘uqdatan min lisānī yafqahū qawlī.
"My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech."
Dua for Pious Family
Asking for comfort in one's spouse and offspring.
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyatina qurrata a‘yunin waj‘alna lil-muttaqina imama.
"Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."
Prophet Musa's Dua for Help
Recited when in desperate need of any good from Allah.
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr.
"My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."
Dua Before Entering Home
Asking for goodness when entering one's house.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
Allāhumma innī as’aluka khayral-mawlaji wa khayral-makhraji, bismillāhi walajnā, wa bismillāhi kharajnā, wa ‘alāllāhi Rabbinā tawakkalnā.
"O Allah, I ask You for the best of entering and the best of exiting. In the Name of Allah we enter, and in the Name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we rely."
Dua Before Eating
Seeking Allah's blessing on food.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
Bismillāh.
"In the Name of Allah."
Dua After Eating
Expressing gratitude after a meal.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi-lladhī aṭ‘amanā wa saqānā wa ja‘alanā muslimīn.
"Praise be to Allah Who has fed us and given us drink and made us Muslims."
Dua Before Sleeping
Entrusting oneself to Allah before sleep.
بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Bismika Allāhumma amūtu wa aḥyā.
"In Your Name, O Allah, I die and I live."
Dua Upon Waking Up
Thanking Allah for the gift of life after sleep.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi-lladhī aḥyānā ba‘da mā amātanā wa ilayhi-n-nushūr.
"Praise be to Allah Who has given us life after He caused us to die and to Him is the resurrection."
Dua of Prophet Ayyub (AS)
A prayer for when afflicted with illness or distress.
أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Annī massaniya-ḍ-ḍurru wa Anta Arḥamu-r-rāḥimīn.
"Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."
Dua of Prophet Adam (AS)
A prayer for repentance and seeking mercy.
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa-in lam taghfir lanā wa-tarḥamnā lanakūnanna minal-khāsirīn.
"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
Dua for Being Grateful
A prayer to be guided towards gratitude for Allah's favors.
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ
Rabbi awzi‘nī an ashkura ni‘mataka-llatī an‘amta ‘alayya wa ‘alā walidayya.
"My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents."
Morning Affirmation
Expressing that all blessings are from Allah alone.
اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ
Allahumma ma asbaha bi min ni‘matin aw bi-ahadin min khalqika fa-minka wahdaka la sharika lak, fa lakal-hamdu wa lakash-shukr.
"O Allah, whatever blessing has been received by me or any of Your creation this morning, is from You alone, without partner; so for You is all praise and unto You all thanks."
Refuge from Four Things
Seeking protection from hellfire, grave punishment, life's trials, and Dajjal.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min ‘adhābi jahannam, wa min ‘adhābil-qabr, wa min fitnatil-maḥyā wal-mamāt, wa min sharri fitnatil-masīḥi-d-dajjāl.
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah."
Dua for Beneficial Knowledge
Asking for useful knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Allāhumma innī as’aluka ‘ilman nāfi‘an, wa rizqan ṭayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.
"O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and deeds that are accepted."
Dua for Anxiety and Sorrow
Seeking refuge from emotional and practical difficulties.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika minal-hammi wal-ḥazan, wal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-jubn, wa ḍala‘id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijāl.
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, from inability and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from being overwhelmed by debt and from being overpowered by men."
Dua when Leaving the House
A prayer for guidance and protection when going out.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
Bismillāhi tawakkaltu ‘alāllāhi wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
"In the Name of Allah, I rely upon Allah, and there is no power nor might except by Allah."
Short Forgiveness Dua

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rabbi-ghfir wa-rḥam wa Anta khayru-r-rāḥimīn.

Dua for Returning from Travel

آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
